about the teacher

Background:	I am a private piano teacher in Concord, North Carolina. I am a Certified Teacher of Music in Piano through the Music Teachers National Association. Originally from Charlotte, I have a very musical family and several of my family members have also made music the focus of their careers. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Minor in Church Music from Judson College. While living in Virginia a few years ago, I maintained a large studio of more than 50 students and was very active in the Tidewater music community. In 2008 my family settled in Concord, NC where I currently instruct piano in my home studio. I have experience teaching piano and theory lessons in both private and group formats. I also have taught preschool group music classes at a church. I believe that piano lessons should be enjoyable and tailored to each student’s style of learning. I am a dedicated music teacher who maintains my expertise by attending national and local conferences and workshops to continue providing the best music education possible for my students. I actively participate as a judge for local annual piano competitions and musical events. In addition to the piano, I enjoy performing flute and was a member of the Peninsula Concert Band in Tidewater.
