about the studio
The Bryan Piano Studio offers piano lessons in Concord, NC. The studio features a Yamaha Studio Upright Piano, and a Theory Learning Lab with two computers. Our studio provides instruction in a fun and creative environment for students to grow as musicians. Ages 4 to 18 can enroll in private weekly lessons for 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions. Lessons emphasize musical appreciation, technique, theory, ear training, and memorization. Students have performance and competition opportunities available throughout the year and are encouraged to share their music with the community.
| Mission: |
Piano lessons will be an enjoyable and challenging activity which will build a foundation for the student’s lifelong musical appreciation. The collaboration of the student, teacher, and family will support and promote the student’s musical education.

The Theory Learning Lab includes two computers equipped with the latest music education software. The computers provide independent musical activities that range from theory and ear training games to composition. Students are encouraged to explore these activities before or after their weekly lesson. The computers have music programs that both challenge and provide age appropriate activities for all skill levels.
Our annual Studio Recital is held in the spring and all students are expected to participate. Students are welcome to invite family and friends for this performance. Solo and duet music may be performed.
STUDIO OPPORTUNITIES
Throughout the year, students have opportunities to participate in additional events, competitions, fundraisers and community service activities. Some of these include:
The National Federation of Music Clubs hosts a Music Festival annually in the spring. Participants will receive a written critique, rating, and a certificate of participation. The Festival is not a contest; therefore, students do not compete with one another, but strive to do their individual best. Students earn points towards a national Gold Cup Trophy for their participation and rating.
The Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum holds annual Scholarship Auditions where students compete against local students in their division for monetary awards. All participants receive a numerical score and a certificate of participation. Students must take a theory exam as part of this event.
The Charlotte Music Teachers Association sponsors the annual Student Certification Program. Students strive to earn points in three musical areas: Participation, Observation, and Exploration. Activities can include attending or watching recorded concerts, performing in the community, learning about composers and music history, or even certain exercises on the studio computers. Certification offers fun projects and activities for students to further their music education. Students who achieve 200 annual points earn an engraved plaque.
The Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum holds the annual Keys for Kids Music-thon in December. This event is a fund-raiser to support Kids Path, a specialized program for children offered by Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region (HPCCR). Students who wish to participate will collect pledges and then perform holiday music at Concord Mills Mall in December.
Students are encouraged to share their music with the community through performances at school, church, or private functions. The studio schedules several dates during the year to visit nearby assisted living homes. These community performances typically are scheduled jointly with another studio. This gives students an opportunity to meet other student musicians in the community and hear a broad range of musical talent.
The Bryan Piano Studio is happy to accept new students when spaces are available. Prospective students can call to schedule an interview. The studio location is easily accessible to students from Concord, North Charlotte, Harrisburg, Kannapolis, and Huntersville.
